This project is great for kids and adults alike, taking care of all the weird old gloves you might have.

If you don’t have extra gloves, you definitely have these unbeatable socks, we have them. This project uses those weird clothes you’ve collected in the hope of finding a pair someday (which we’ve never done).

Recycled crafts are the best, right? This opens up many possibilities for using leftovers and leftover materials.

Snowman BlocksHow to make a snowman out of wooden blocks

what do you need

  • piece of wood (reclaimed wood or store bought)
  • Acrylic Paint – White and Orange Available
  • black permanent marker
  • At least one pair of gloves or socks
  • scarf
  • test
  • glue point
  • glue
  • elastic band
  • A pair of scissors
  • Optional orange nose paper

Step-by-step instructions

If you are using a scrap wood block, wipe it down to remove any dirt. You can also use sandpaper to make it smoother.

Painting the wood blocks white, depending on the paint and wood, requires more than one coat of paint.

Allow the paint to dry before applying a second (and heavy) coat.

Draw a “carrot nose” on the top half of the square.

You can also glue orange carrots to paper (good for indoor displays, but you can varnish to make them waterproof).

Use a black permanent marker to draw two eyes on the carrot’s nose.

Draw dots on the mouth under the carrot’s nose. Make your snowman happy (or sad, it’s up to you).

Glue the two large colored buttons to the bottom half of the snowman’s body.

We use glue dots to connect them together, a glue gun or craft glue will work too. No button? carefree! Paint the buttons with acrylic paint.

Tie a ribbon between the snowman’s head and the button.

Cut off excess tape. If you want your ribbon to be “clean” you can secure it with a little glue.

And then there’s the snowman hat! Take an old glove or sock and put it over the snowman’s head.

Tie the ribbon (you can use a rubber band under the ribbon to hold everything in place).

Cut off excess tape.

Finish! You have finished your wooden block snowman craft.

This project is great for kids and adults alike, and will take care of all those weird, old gloves you might have.
If you don’t have gloves to spare, we’re sure you have these pairless socks, we have them all. This project uses those weird items of clothing that you store in hopes of finding a pair of them one day (we never do).

Recycled crafts are the best, right? And this one gives a lot of opportunities to use waste and leftover materials.
How to make a wooden block snowman
What do you need
a block of wood (scrap wood or store bought)
acrylic paint – white and orange optional
black permanent marker
less pair of glove or sock
ribbon
buttons
glue dots
glue
elastic
the scissors
optional orange paper for the nose

Step by step instructions
If you are using a scrap wood block, clean it to remove dirt. You can also use sandpaper to make it smoother.
Paint the block of wood white, depending on the paint and the wood, more than one coat of paint will be needed.
Let the paint dry before painting a second (and substantial) coat of paint.
Paint a “carrot nose” on the top half of the block.
You can also stick an orange carrot on paper and stick it on (suitable for indoor display, although you can apply varnish to it to make it water resistant).
With a black permanent marker, draw two eyes above the carrot’s nose.

Draw dots for the mouth under the carrot’s nose. Make your snowman happy (or sad, it’s up to you).
Glue two large colored buttons into the lower half of the snowman’s body.
We used glue dots to attach them, a glue gun or craft glue will also do the trick. No buttons? Carefree! Paint the buttons with acrylic paints.
Tie a ribbon between the snowman’s head and the buttons.
Cut the excess ribbon. If you want your ribbon to be “clean”, you can fix it with a little glue.
Next comes the snowman hat! Use an old glove or sock and push it over the snowman’s head.
Tie the ribbon (you can use a rubber band under the ribbon to hold everything in place).
Cut the excess ribbon.
