How to make toilet paper rolls for winter windsocks?

  • Toilet paper rolls (or other types of paper rolls)
  • blue paint
  • White and blue tissue paper (or napkins, or old newspaper if you want a fully recycled version)
  • brush
  • Snowflake hole punch (you can also color or print snowflakes)

  • white paper
  • hanging wire

step by step explanation

Start by painting the toilet paper roll blue.

After painting, let the paint dry before moving on to the next step.

Punch two holes on one side of the roll (one opposite).

Pull the wire through the hole.

Cut out snowflakes from white paper. Kids love this step.

Glue the snowflakes to the paper roll.

Alternatively, you can also draw snowflakes or make fingerprint snowflakes.

Cut out long strips of tissue paper. We chose light blue and white for this project; other colors are also available.

Glue the tissue paper to the inside of the toilet paper roll (younger kids can also stick them to the outside if they find it easier).

How to Make a Winter Windsock Toilet Paper Roll

What do you need:
