Snowman Windsock Toilet Paper Roll Craft

We’re taking recycled toilet paper to a whole new level with this awesome snowman toilet paper roll with windsock – it doesn’t get much cuter.

It’s a great way to put these toilet paper rolls to good use, and if for some reason you can’t use them, making toilet paper rolls out of cardboard is just as fun.

We always have tons of toilet paper rolls on hand, and we’re coming up with cool new ways to use them.

Toilet paper roll crafts are definitely cool, but we wanted to go a step further and make them really pretty, and I think our new line of toilet paper roll windsocks has been a success (we have a lot of ideas we’ll be sharing with you soon).

How to Make a Toilet Paper Roll with a Windsock and a Snowman

what do you need:

  • Toilet paper roll or two (or use paper towel rolls or kraft paper rolls)
  • white paint
  • Tissue or other lightweight paper (if you want to do more recyclable crafts or newsprint, an old towel is best)
  • A pair of scissors
  • brush
  • glue
  • black marker
  • button (optional)
  • orange construction paper (optional)
  • single hole punch
  • hanging wire

Step-by-step instructions

Start by painting the scroll with white paint. More than one coat of paint may be required.

Allow the paint to dry completely before proceeding to the next step. l

When the paint is completely dry, punch two holes on one side of the paper roll.

The holes should intersect (so if you see through them you should see the other, more or less)

Pass the wire through the hole (this can also be done at the end).

Put it through the two holes…

tie.

Cut out a carrot-shaped nose out of orange construction paper (you can also paint the nose with orange paint or stroke it with an orange marker).

Stick it over the center of the roll (the wire is on top).

Use a black marker to outline a pair of eyes and a mouth.

A cute snowman needs a cute set of buttons. We used real buttons, glued them on, can use other materials, or paint the buttons on the snowman.

Cut long, thin strips of tissue paper. For our snowman, we choose two colors, white and light blue.

Glue them in, one at a time, until you stick them together.

Hang your Snowman Windsock Craft toilet paper roll for display.

We always have a bunch of toilet paper rolls on hand and are thinking of cool new ways to use them.
Toilet roll crafts are certainly cool, but we wanted to take it a step further and make them incredibly pretty – and I think we’ve managed to do just that with our new series of toilet roll windsocks (we’ve had so many ideas that we will soon share with you).

How to make snowman windsock toilet paper roll crafts

What do you need:
toilet paper roll or two (or use paper towel rolls or kraft paper rolled up into a paper roll)
White paint
tissue paper or other lightweight paper (old towels are best if you want to make even more of a recycled craft or newsprint)
the scissors
brush
glue
black marker
buttons (optional)
orange card stock (optional)
single hole punch
hanging wire
Step by step instructions
Start by painting the paper roll with white paint. More than one coat of paint may be required.
Let the paint dry completely before moving on to the next step. I

When the paint is completely dry, punch two holes in one side of the paper roll.

The holes should intersect (so if you look through one you should see another – pretty much)

Thread the yarn through the holes (this can also be done at the end).

Thread it through the two holes…
Tie a knot.

Cut a carrot-shaped nose out of orange construction paper (you can also paint the nose with orange paint or draw it with an orange marker).
Glue it just above the middle of the paper roll (the thread is at the top).

With a black marker, draw a set of eyes and mouth.

A cute snowman needs a set of cute buttons. We used real buttons and glued them with glue dots, other materials can be used or the buttons can also be drawn on the snowman.

Cut long thin strips of tissue paper. For our snowman we choose two colors, white and light blue.
Glue them inside, one at a time until you glue them all the way around.
Hang your Snowman Windsock Craft toilet paper roll for display.
Good DIY.
