How do you make a Christmas tree out of scrap paper?

what do you need

  • giant craft stick
  • green confetti
  • yellow or gold paper
  • glue
  • Scotch tape or masking tape

Step-by-step instructions

We love the natural color of the craft stick for this project, but you can paint it brown as well. Do a loop with a string.

If you’re making a hanging ornament, attach it to the back of the stick with ribbon.

The craft stick is ready to hang, now let’s make it into a beautiful ornament.

Cut thin strips from green (or other color) waste paper of your choice.

Cut them into different sizes.

Apply glue to the craft stick.

Glue the longest strip of paper on the bottom first.

Work all the way up and add glue if necessary.

Cut a star out of yellow paper and stick it to your Christmas tree using scrap paper.

Finish! This one is ready to hang.

You can also do this without string; it will look great on your DIY Christmas cards too.

What do you need
giant craft stick
leftover green paper
scraps of yellow or gold paper
glue
clear tape or duct tape

Start gluing the strips of paper – the longest at the bottom.
