Elden Ring Grand Lift of Dectus Medallion locations

The Elden Ring Grand Lift location in the Dectus Medallion, if you can find both halves of the medallion, will help you climb the side of the Altus Plateau to reach the Royal Capital and beyond the Elden Ring. The problem is, knowing where to find half of the Grand Lift or Dectus medallions and where they are located, it’s not easy to find secret alternate routes that await a huge boss fight at the end.

Anyone you want to try, we’re here to help. If you want to find the location of the Dectus Medallion and use Dectus’ Grand Lift on the Elden Ring, we’ll show you how to do it. We’ll show you where and what to expect from an elevator job in all three stages. If you want to live dangerously, we’ll also discuss more dangerous options on how to get to the Altus Plateau without using the big upright elevator. Don’t worry, doing one won’t stop you from doing the other.

To climb the Dectus Grand Lift, the northernmost point of Liurnia, players need two halves of the Dectus Medallion, and finding them isn’t very intuitive, although it’s actually not that hard to get there once you know where they are.

The left half of the Dectus Medal is at Fort Haight, southeast of Limgrave, on the coast below Mistwood. It’s a small building barely worthy of being called a “fortress”, with a few enemies and a few rooms until you find a chest with a medallion in the middle.

The right half of the Dectus Medal is a little further afield at Pharosburg, a slightly poorer fortress on the border between Kelid and Longbarrow, east of Sellia and south of Minor Erdtree. It’s no bigger than Heitelberg, but the enemy is more vile, like a bat-like poisonous harpy. You can fight them, but it’s probably smarter to run up the ladder than to climb to the chest and grab the right half of the Dectus Medallion.

Once you have them, head back to the Great Dectus Elevator and walk up to the statue. You’ll be prompted to “raise the locket” and a movie will begin, with your character lifting the two halves together and activating the elevator. You can do this from above or below anytime between Plateau and Liurnia!

If you want to go off the beaten path, players will need to go to the water level in Liurnia and climb the canyon just north of the elevator to the entrance to the cave marked on the map above. This is Hidden Canyon Village, where a sizable mine tunnel dungeon rises up Plateau side.

PLEASE NOTE: While there is a lot of treasure here, the climb is also quite tough, with two boss characters: a monster called Magma Wyrm Makar, which the player must defeat to get off the other side (a ranged attack will help a lot, of course ) is true), and a very tough dragon named Lansseux that waits when you exit the dungeon. Fortunately, you don’t have to fight Lansseux, you can pass it on horseback (which we recommend), but it’s still a challenge.

Elden Ring Grand Lift of Dectus Medallion locations

The Elden Ring Grand Lift of Dectus Medallion locations will, if you can find both medallion halves, help you ascend up the side of the Altus Plateau and make it to the Royal Capital and realms beyond of Elden Ring. Problem is, knowing where to find the Grand Lift of Dectus medallion halves and their locations isn’t easy, nor is finding the secret alternative route with the enormous boss fight waiting at the end.
Whichever one you want to try out, we can help you here. If you want to find the Dectus Medallion locations and use the Grand Lift of Dectus in Elden ring, we’re about to show you how. We’ll show you where to go, and what to expect for all three stages of getting the lift working. We’ll also cover that more dangerous alternative on how to get to the Altus Plateau without using the Grand Lift of Dectus, if you want to live dangerously. Don’t worry – doing one doesn’t lock you out of doing the other.

To get up the Grand Lift of Dectus at the Northernmost point of Liurnia, players will need two halves of the Dectus Medallion – and finding them isn’t very intuitive, though it’s not actually that hard to get them once you know where they are.
The left half of the Dectus Medallion is in Fort Haight, in the Southeast side of Limgrave, on the coast beneath the Mistwood. It’s a small building barely worthy of the term “fort”, with a few enemies and a few rooms before finding a chest with the Medallion half in.
The right half of the Dectus Medallion is a little further in Fort Faroth, a slightly nastier fortress on the Caelid/Dragonbarrow border, East of Sellia and South of the Minor Erdtree. It’s not any bigger than Fort Haight, but the enemies are nastier, bat-like harpies that inflict poison. You can fight them, but it might be wiser just to sprint through to the ladder – then just climb up that to the chest and get the right half of the Dectus Medallion.
Once you have them both, head back to the Grand Lift of Dectus and simply walk onto it in front of the statues. You’ll get a prompt to “Hoist Medallion”, and a cinematic will start where your character lifts both halves together and activates the lift. You can do this at any time from top or below, taking you between the Plateau and Liurnia!

If you would rather find an alternative way up, players should descend down to the Liurnia water level and head up the Ravine just North of the lift itself, heading for the cave entrance at the far end marked on the map above. This is the Ravine-Veiled Village, a fairly large mine tunnel dungeon that rises up the side of the Plateau.
Be warned – though there’s a lot of treasures to be found here, it’s also a fairly rough climb, with two bosses – a monster called Magma Wyrm Makar that players have to beat to get out the other end (a fight where ranged attacks will help you a lot, incidentally), and an incredibly hard dragon called Lansseux waiting when you get out of the dungeon. Fortunately you don’t have to fight Lansseux and can horse ride past him (which we recommend), but it’s still a challenge nonetheless.
