AirPods Pro 2 Are Coming In 2022, Minus This Important Upgrade
Rumors suggest that the upcoming AirPods Pro 2 will feature a couple of changes. The original AirPods hosted a stem that used to stick out of the wearer’s ears. The AirPods Pro featured short stems. In 2021, the AirPods 3 came out that also featured stems. However, in the upcoming model, this might not be the case. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, a reliable source for Apple’s decisions, the AirPods Pro 2 will get rid of the stem altogether. Instead, it will opt for a design that closely resembles the Beats Studio Buds. If this rumor turns out to be accurate, it will be a significant change considering the stem was primarily popularized by Apple.
Earlier reports also suggest that the earbuds will sport a new chip that will replace the H1 chip planted inside the current model. In addition, it has been rumored that the AirPods Pro 2 will support Lossless Audio via a connectivity method that will replace Bluetooth, as the latter doesn’t support the codec. But, of course, these are all just rumors, and users will have to wait until Apple officially announces them to know for sure what the AirPods Pro 2 will feature.
